Energy Performance Certificates

An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is an extremely important document, and it’s a legal requirement when any property is built, sold or let. If you’re a developer, a landlord or the owner of a commercial building, you will no doubt already be aware of the need to provide an EPC as and when required. If you’re in doubt, the team at VF Electrical Services can advise you.

Our specialists have carried out EPC inspections and issued the relevant certification for properties all over Scotland. If you’re a builder, a landlord or the relevant manager in the public sector, you need to show that your property has been inspected and rated by accredited and qualified personnel. The information given on an EPC will include vital data regarding energy usage and typical energy costs.

There are a number of areas that can be covered by an Energy Performance Certificate, including:

  • Cavity walls
  • Floor insulation
  • Loft insulation
  • Hot water tanks
  • Heating controls
  • Radiators

…and more.

Once issued, a certificate will be valid for ten years. There are tough penalties for not having the right documentation when required, so if you’re responsible for certification you need to make sure you and your property are covered. As always, we are on hand to help whenever you need us. Our ever-expanding band of happy clients enjoy the peace of mind that comes from knowing they’ve done the right thing.

Here at VF Electrical Services, we can let you know what’s needed and we can carry out EPC inspections with a minimum of fuss and a maximum of efficiency. Wherever you are in Scotland and whatever type of commercial or domestic property you have, you can take comfort from the fact that top of the range service is available right now on 01382 699 550.
